Mango Collagen Gummies

Collagen gummies are fun and easy to make. They’re like grown up lollies without all the added sugar and junk. You can flavour them any way you like, using fresh fruit, sweetened herbal teas or creamy concoctions. The flavour game is endless.

*Hot tip, pineapple doesn’t work.

These little babies are made from organic grass-fed bovine gelatin. Gelatin is collagen just broken down into a different chemical structure. However, it contains the same amino acid profile, promoting muscle recovery, gut health, and improving the integrity of bones, skin, hair and nails.

When consuming animal products, I highly recommend choosing organic and grass-fed sources for superior nutritional density, as well as limiting unnecessary toxin exposure.

In this recipe I used Nutra Organics Natural Gelatin. I also like this product because it has the appropriate ratios for gummies recipe on the back.

Mango Gummies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup room temp water to ‘bloom’ the gelatin

  • 1/4 cup powdered gelatin

  • 1 cup chopped fresh mango

  • 1/4 cup additional water

  • 1 tsp honey

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/4 gelatin powder using a fork or whisk, ensuring there are no lumps. Then allow to sit for 5 minute. This is called ‘blooming’ the gelatin.

  2. In a high speed food processor combine mango, water and honey until very smooth.

  3. Transfer the mango mixture into a small saucepan on a low heat.

  4. Add the gelatin, and stir until it is completely dissolved in the mango juice.

  5. Once ready, gently pour the mixture into silicone moulds or a baking dish and allow to set in the fridge for 2 hours. If using a baking dish you can cut the gummies into bite sized pieces.
